My mom expects her dog, Cocoa, won't outlive the day.
This is somewhat expected. Cocoa has had a heart condition and chronic bronchitis, we've known for a couple of months. Sure, there's stuff the vet can give her but... just prolonging the inevitable, and the dog would be struggling the whole way so... Like I said in the title.
Sounds a bit morbid maybe but I'm ok with it, she's had a good life. More concerned for my mom; I know she'll be fine in the not-too-long run, but she's always been more attached to the dog than I.
UPDATE:
It's done. We buried her with a handful of treats because she loved to eat... right up to the end. Heck when the vet saw the X-rays he said he would've thought she'd be skin and bones but...
Vets were all very sympathetic, etc. I wasn't the one who needed it. Almost thought my mom'd ask me to drive home. Nah, I just did the ditch-digging.
R.I.P. Cocoa.
